Description
Walden Guitars SD642EB-D Sollana Docerola 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Black Satin
The Walden SD642EB-D is part of the new Sollana line, purpose-built for Mexican-American musical traditions. A docerola is a 12-string acoustic guitar used in regional Mexican music like Sierreño — unlike a standard 12-string, its pairs are tuned in unison rather than octaves, giving it that thick, doubled voice the style is known for. This is a genuinely specialized instrument, not a re-badged 12-string dreadnought.
A pre-installed Bridge Doctor most players buy separately. Walden ships the SD642EB-D with a Bridge Truss (Bridge Doctor) pre-installed at the factory — a bridge-stabilizing upgrade that prevents doming and belly distortion over time, especially important on an instrument carrying the extra tension of six unison string pairs.
Solid Top Tone, Purpose-Built Setup
A solid Sitka spruce soundboard with Walden's Low-Mass scalloped-X bracing pairs with mahogany back and sides, reinforced by Walden's glass-fibre neck construction for long-term stability under that extra string tension. The nut and saddle are set up specifically for double-course unison strings, strung with two sets of D'Addario Extra Lights and a Graphtech NuBone nut and saddle for clean, articulate unison pairs.
Stage-Ready With Fishman Electronics
A Fishman Presys II onboard pickup with tuner means the SD642EB-D goes straight from the case to the stage — bass, treble, and phase controls give you real tone shaping when you plug in, not just volume.
Striking Black Satin Cosmetics
Finished in Black Satin with white binding, an abalone 2-ring rosette, a black pearloid pickguard, and black hardware throughout, the SD642EB-D looks as purposeful as it sounds. Includes a Walden gig bag.
