Description
Takamine GP3HSE LH NS Travel-Size Dreadnought Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar with a solid spruce top, sapele back and sides, a mahogany neck, a laurel fingerboard, and a satin natural finish.
I've been playing guitar for over 30 years. I started as a studio musician in Los Angeles, and now I run Terry Carter Music Store and a music education platform that has taught thousands of students how to play.
Left-handed players deserve the same great guitars. The GP3HSE is a left-handed travel-sized dreadnought with a cool twist. Small guitars that sound big are always amazing, and small guitars are also great at Nashville tuning, where the lowest four strings are replaced with octave-up strings for a light, shimmering sound, like the high octave strings in a 12-string set. The gold hardware with amber pearloid buttons looks elegant, and the built-in TP-3G electronics make it easy to bring to the stage.

Common questions
What tuning does the Takamine GP3HSE LH NS use?
Standard guitar tuning, E-A-D-G-B-E from the lowest string to the highest. It also suits Nashville tuning, where the lowest four strings are replaced with octave-up strings.
Is the GP3HSE LH NS a solid-wood guitar?
The top is solid spruce, which is the part of the guitar that matters most for tone and projection. The back and sides are sapele, and the neck is mahogany.
Is the GP3HSE LH NS left-handed?
Yes. This listing is the left-handed GP3HSE LH NS, built for left-handed players. The right-handed version is listed separately where available.
Can I plug the GP3HSE LH NS into an amp or PA?
Yes. It is an acoustic-electric with a Takamine TP-3G preamp, which gives you 3-band EQ, volume control and a chromatic tuner, so you can plug straight into an amp or PA.
What does travel-sized mean on the GP3HSE?
The GP3HSE has a 570 mm (22.44 in) scale length, shorter than the 644 mm (25.35 in) scale on a full-size Takamine dreadnought, so the whole guitar is smaller and easier to carry.
Does the GP3HSE LH NS come with a case?
Takamine does not list a case or gig bag with the GP3HSE.
What is the difference between the Takamine GP3HSE LH NS and the GX31CE LH NS?
The GP3HSE LH is a travel-sized dreadnought with a solid spruce top, sapele back and sides, and no cutaway. The GX31CE LH is a mini-NEX cutaway travel guitar with a solid spruce top, sapele back and sides, and a gig bag included. Both have a 570 mm scale length and the TP-3G preamp.
