Description
Takamine GD30CE-NAT Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar with a solid spruce top, okoume back and sides, a mahogany neck, an ovangkol fingerboard, and a Gloss Natural finish.
I've been playing guitar for over 30 years. I started as a studio musician in Los Angeles, and now I run Terry Carter Music Store and a music education platform that has taught thousands of students how to play.
A dreadnought is the guitar most players picture when they think 'acoustic'. Big, balanced, and made for strumming and flatpicking. The Takamine GD30CE-NAT puts that classic shape in a Gloss Natural finish with a solid spruce top, a Venetian-style cutaway, and a Takamine preamp ready for any amp or PA.

Common questions
What tuning does the Takamine GD30CE use?
Standard guitar tuning, E-A-D-G-B-E from the lowest string to the highest.
Is the GD30CE a solid-wood guitar?
The top is solid spruce, which is the part of the guitar that matters most for tone and projection. The back and sides are okoume, and the neck is mahogany.
Can I plug the GD30CE into an amp or PA?
Yes. It is an acoustic-electric with a Takamine TP-4TD preamp, which gives you a built-in tuner, three-band EQ, and gain controls, so you can plug straight into an amp or PA.
Does the GD30CE have a cutaway?
Yes. The GD30CE is a Dreadnought Cutaway model, which makes the upper frets easier to reach.
Is the GD30CE right-handed or left-handed?
This listing is the right-handed GD30CE-NAT. Takamine also makes left-handed versions of some models, and we list those separately where available.
Does the GD30CE come with a case?
No. Takamine does not include a case with the GD30CE. The compatible case is the Takamine CTAKSH200A semi-hard case, which is sold separately.
What is the difference between the Takamine GD30CE-NAT and the GD30CE-12?
The GD30CE-NAT is a six-string with a 42.8 mm nut and a Gloss Natural finish. The GD30CE-12 is the 12-string version of the same dreadnought cutaway body, with a wider 47.5 mm nut and a double set of strings for a shimmering, chorus-like sound. Both have a solid spruce top, okoume back and sides, and the TP-4TD preamp.
