Wow, Rebel took their all solid mango Double Creme concert ukulele to a new stratosphere.
This is some of the prettiest mango I have seen on any ukulele, period.
I always loved the original Rebel mango ukuleles that were more of the orange and golden mango but I do prefer this style of mango that has more color, depth, and variation in it.
What does mango sound like?
Great question. Mango is one of the softest woods used to build ukuleles (especially compared to mahogany, rosewood, and even koa). Thus the sound that mango produces is a warm and majestic sound.
It's doesn't have the punch that sprue tops do but think of the sound as very balances with focus on the mid-range, much like koa wood.
These Double Creme concert ukuleles from Rebel are true works of art. Rebel uses noting but high quality materials such as all solid woods, Gotoh tuners, and ebony fretboards to create a "custom ukulele feel, sound, and look, without the custom price."
