Description

The KoAloha KTM-S00 Slimline Gloss Solid Hawaiian Koa Tenor Ukulele is a slimline tenor ukulele made in Hawaii with a solid Hawaiian koa top, back and sides and a high-gloss finish.

What is the KoAloha KTM-S00 made of?

The KoAloha KTM-S00 has a solid Hawaiian koa top, back and sides with a high-gloss finish and single-piece sidewall construction. It has a CNC-cut mahogany neck, an ebony fretboard and bridge, and a TUSQ nut and saddle. The headstock is KoAloha's 5-pointed crown with a Paua abalone logo, the fret markers are Paua abalone, and the soundhole is KoAloha's patented "Musubi" design.

What size is the KoAloha KTM-S00 and how is it tuned?

The KoAloha KTM-S00 is a tenor ukulele, 27 inches long overall, with a 17-inch scale length, a 1.49-inch nut width and 20 frets. It ships with KoAloha fluorocarbon strings tuned G-C-E-A with an unwound low G, and KoAloha geared tuners.

What does slimline mean on the KoAloha KTM-S00?

Slimline is the shallow body of this KoAloha tenor. The KoAloha KTM-S00 has a body depth of 2.08 inches and a body width of 8.97 inches. In Terry Carter's video on the KTM-S00, he says it looks like KoAloha's standard tenor but in a slim body that still has a big sound, and that he loves how the slimline feels and sounds. The KTM-S00 is the gloss version of the slimline tenor, and the KTM-S10 is the satin version.

What does the KoAloha KTM-S00 sound like and who is it for?

KoAloha describes the tone of its koa ukuleles as a balance of warmth and brightness, and says they suit styles from fingerpicking to strumming and from classical to jazz. In his video on the KTM-S00, Terry Carter says that for a slim body it sounds big, and he describes the solid koa top, back and sides, the 17-inch scale length and the unwound low G as part of what he likes about it. He also says KoAloha does not make a lot of the slimline model, so when it is available it is worth picking up.

Will I receive the exact ukulele in the photos?

Yes. Each KoAloha KTM-S00 we list is photographed individually, so the ukulele you choose under "Your ukulele" is the instrument shown in its photos. Solid koa varies in grain and colour from one ukulele to the next.
