Common questions
Is the Kala KA-AM-B-CE solid wood or laminate?
The Kala KA-AM-B-CE is laminate: an Amara top with a mahogany center stripe and Amara back and sides, which keeps it durable and stable.
Does the Kala KA-AM-B-CE have a pickup?
Yes. The Kala KA-AM-B-CE has a Kala Active EQ pickup system for playing through an amp or PA.
How is the Kala KA-AM-B-CE tuned?
The Kala KA-AM-B-CE is tuned D-G-B-E, the same as the top four strings of a guitar, with wound D and G strings.
What is the difference between the Kala KA-AM-B-CE and the AM-C-CE?
The Kala KA-AM-B-CE is the baritone size with a 20.1875” scale and D-G-B-E tuning, while the AM-C-CE is the concert size tuned G-C-E-A; both have the Amara tri-top, cutaway and Kala Active EQ.
What case fits the Kala KA-AM-B-CE?
The Kala KA-AM-B-CE fits standard Kala baritone gig bags, the Sonoma Coast cases, the UC-B foam hard case and the HC-CHAR-B ABS hard case, but because of its shape it does not fit Kala baritone archtop hard cases. No case is included.
Who is the Kala KA-AM-B-CE for?
The Kala KA-AM-B-CE suits guitar players and ukulele players who want the deeper baritone voice at a modest price. Its laminate Amara body is durable and stable for everyday playing and travel, and the pickup lets you plug into an amp or PA for gigs, open mics and recording.
