To clarify, it also features inlaid purfling and rosewood fittings, which add both durability and flair. Finally, the Cremona SV-100 Violin uses premium steel strings tuned to G-D-A-E, so it sings with power and clarity.
What size player is a 4/4 violin for?
A 4/4 violin generally suits most players from around 11 years old upward, including adults, with an arm length of roughly 23 inches (58 cm) or more. Measure from the side of the neck, along the outstretched arm, to the middle of the palm. Sizing follows the player's reach rather than age alone, so measure before choosing.
If a measurement falls between two sizes, the smaller size is usually the safer choice — an oversized instrument makes good left-hand technique harder to learn.
Violin sizes run, smallest to largest: 1/32, 1/16, 1/10, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 4/4 (full size).
