What tuning does the Takamine GD93 use?
Standard guitar tuning, E-A-D-G-B-E from the lowest string to the highest.
Is the GD93 a solid-wood guitar?
The top is solid spruce, which is the part of the guitar that matters most for tone and projection. The back is a three-piece black walnut and quilt maple, the sides are black walnut, and the neck is mahogany.
Does the GD93 have onboard electronics?
No. The GD93 is an acoustic-only guitar with no pickup or preamp. If you want to plug into an amp or PA, look at GD93CE, the electric version.
Can I plug the GD93 into an amp?
Not as it comes, because there is no pickup or preamp. You would need to add an aftermarket pickup, or choose the GD93CE, which has onboard electronics.
Is the GD93 right-handed or left-handed?
This listing is the right-handed GD93 NAT. Takamine also makes left-handed versions of some models, and we list those separately where available.
Does the GD93 come with a case?
No. Takamine does not include a case with the GD93. The compatible case is the Takamine CTAKSH200A semi-hard case, which is sold separately.
What is the difference between the Takamine GD93 NAT and the GD93CE?
The GD93CE is the same dreadnought with a cutaway and the Takamine TK-40D preamp (built-in tuner, three-band EQ, gain control, mid contour switch, notch filter, and EQ bypass switch). The GD93 has no cutaway and no onboard electronics. Both have a solid spruce top and a three-piece black walnut and quilt maple back.
