Description
Takamine GD30CE-12 NAT LH Dreadnought Cutaway 12-String Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar with a solid spruce top, okoume back and sides, a mahogany neck, an ovangkol fingerboard, and a gloss natural finish.
I've been playing guitar for over 30 years. I started as a studio musician in Los Angeles, and now I run Terry Carter Music Store and a music education platform that has taught thousands of students how to play.
Left-handed players deserve the same great guitars. A 12-string changes everything about how you play. That harp-like jangle. The chord work that suddenly sounds twice as full. The GD30CE-12 LH gives you all of that in a left-handed Gloss Natural dreadnought cutaway with a solid spruce top and onboard electronics ready for any amp or PA.

Common questions
What tuning does the Takamine GD30CE-12 NAT LH use?
Standard 12-string tuning. Each of the six notes, E-A-D-G-B-E, is played by a pair of strings. On the lower four pairs the second string is tuned an octave higher, and the two highest pairs are tuned in unison.
Is the GD30CE-12 NAT LH a solid-wood guitar?
The top is solid spruce, which is the part of the guitar that matters most for tone and projection. The back and sides are okoume, and the neck is mahogany.
Is the GD30CE-12 NAT LH left-handed?
Yes. This listing is the left-handed GD30CE-12 NAT LH, built for left-handed players. The right-handed version is listed separately where available.
Can I plug the GD30CE-12 NAT LH into an amp or PA?
Yes. It is an acoustic-electric with a Takamine TP-4TD preamp, which gives you a built-in tuner, three-band EQ, and gain controls, so you can plug straight into an amp or PA.
Does the GD30CE-12 NAT LH have a cutaway?
Yes. The GD30CE-12 NAT LH is a Dreadnought Cutaway model, which makes the upper frets easier to reach.
Is a 12-string harder to play than a 6-string?
A little. Twelve strings mean more tension on your fretting hand and a bit more finger strength to get clean chords, and the nut here is 47.5 mm (1.87 in) wide, wider than a typical 6-string, so your fingers have more room. Most players get comfortable within a few weeks. If you are new to guitar, the included Rock Like The Pros membership walks you through the fundamentals.
Does the GD30CE-12 NAT LH come with a case?
No. Takamine does not include a case with the GD30CE-12. The compatible case is the Takamine CTAKSH200A semi-hard case, which is sold separately.
What is the difference between the Takamine GD30CE-12 NAT LH and the GD30CE-12 NAT?
The GD30CE-12 NAT LH is the left-handed version of the GD30CE-12 NAT. It has the same dreadnought cutaway body, solid spruce top, okoume back and sides, mahogany neck, and TP-4TD preamp, built for left-handed players.
