Nick Reynolds, of the iconic Kingston Trio, played tenor guitar, it’s clear, high tones adding an important element to the Trio’s instrumental sound. Initially Reynolds played a Martin 0-17T, then a 2-18T, heard on the early albums (converted to an 8 string in 1961.) In 1959 Nick acquired a Martin 0-18T, heard often in concert and the studio — usually played with a thick ukulele pick. Like all the Trio members, Nick’s first instrument was a Uke.
Terry, your Kala tenors sound great! Glad this interesting, pleasing instrument is again readily available — keep up the good work! Best regards, Thomas
