The TK-450 (Premium Solid Koa) is similar to the TK-350G (Solid Koa Gloss) model as both are made from Solid Hawaiian Koa, but the TK-450 has a classic look with less "bing" (no purfling or binding and satin finish) and allows the natural beauty of the Koa shine. The TK-450 has an artistic slotted headstock and abalone rosette.
Koa wood is the standard for Hawaiian made ukuleles. Why??? Koa wood is warm, balanced, and resonate. But the biggest problem these days is as the demand for Koa wood skyrockets the price follows right behind.
Most Hawaiian Koa wood ukuleles are between $1200-1800. To find an all solid Koa wood tenor ukulele for under $700 is unheard of.
