This is a special instrument. I know that when many people think of Hawaiian Koa wood they think of a dark rich and bold color and grain pattern. I love it too. But, they are very common.
When I first took "Flash" out of the box I knew immediately I had something unique. The light, yellowish koa on the sides mixed with the darker center makes this KTM-00 pop at you. Also there is a quite a bit of "flame" with this KoAloha (flame is the sideways pattern in the wood that is perpendicular to the main grain pattern.
This is the exact model of my first KoAloha Tenor Ukulele (the one that has helped me gain over 75,000 subscribers on YouTube) except to be honest it's much nicer looking and sounding. The Koa wood has a rich blend of amazing colors and wood grains and has a full and even sound.
