I specially picked this gorgeous Kanilea K-1 ST Deluxe Super Tenor Ukulele from Kanilea before they had to shut down due to COVID. I got the help of my good friend Kaimana from Kanile'a to select this Super Tenor Ukulele so I decided to name it "Kaimana" after him.
It's been a difficult time for Kanile'a as it had for most of the world during the pandemic. Of course safety is always the first concern in a pandemic, it's had to take away the tradition of ukulele building that is such a part of Hawaiian culture.
Because of you, I am very honored to have been able to add these beautiful instruments to my store during this time.
Kanile'a is unique in making these Super Tenor Ukuleles. With the wider body and the wider lower bout they help give this ukulele a bigger and fuller sound. If you like a bigger bodied instrument and sound with some extra bass response the Kanile'a Super Tenor "Kaimana" is going to serve you well.
The Hawaiian Koa wood on this Super Tenor is stunning. Honestly it looks so much more spectacular in person then it does in the photos. The rich and dark straight grain of this Deluxe Koa will make you do a double take, mixed in with the subtle but powerful stripe of sapwood running down the center. Sapwood is the outer ring of the koa tree that is white instead of the darker reddish brown you normally see in koa.
This will be a great ukulele to add to your quiver whether this is your first of your 20th ukulele.
The "Deluxe" Koa wood grade is a step above the "Select" grade of koa wood Kanile'a offers. "Deluxe" wood grade will have more striking wood grain that offers more variation and "eye candy" compared to the straight "Select" grade.
The K-1 model is the foundation of every Kanile`a ukulele built. It appeals to the player looking for a simple, elegant instrument that boasts a delightful sound. Resonance, sustain and intonation are the key to making this the most popular Kanile`a we sell.

* CUSTOM SETUP - Each Kanile'a ukulele comes with a nice factory setup BUT if you are particular about your setups, have arthritis, or want the lowest action (how close the strings are to the fretboard) possible please use the "ADD Custom Setup" this page.
* A humidifier is HIGHLY recommended with all orders. No matter where you live humidifiers not only protect your investment but also help the warranty process go smoother because you have taken the steps to ensure the safety and protection of your ukulele.
