Shipping Policy
At Terry Carter Music Store, we work hard to get your order to you as quickly as possible. Below you'll find everything you need to know about how we process and ship orders.
Free Shipping
We offer free shipping on full-price orders over $149 to U.S. domestic addresses.
Some discounted and clearance items may not qualify for free shipping. Applicable shipping charges will be calculated at checkout.
Order Processing & Shipping Times
Orders for items currently in stock at our shop typically process within 1–3 business days before shipping.
Once shipped, most U.S. domestic orders arrive within 3–7 business days depending on the shipping carrier and destination.
Some items on our website may ship directly from a manufacturer, distributor, or partner warehouse. These items may require additional processing time before shipment depending on supplier availability and location. Processing times for these items may range from 3–10 business days or longer before shipping.
If your order contains both in-stock items and partner-fulfilled items, they may ship separately and arrive at different times.
Custom work such as instrument setups, pickup installs, strap button installs, custom instruments, pre-orders, and made-to-order items may extend processing times. Estimated timelines for these items will be listed on the product page whenever possible.
Shipping and delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
By placing an order on our website, you acknowledge and agree that processing and shipping timelines may vary depending on product availability, supplier fulfillment, custom work, and carrier delays.
If your order has not shipped within 10 business days and you have not received an update, please contact us at support@terrycartermusicstore.com and we will review the status of your order.
International Shipping
We proudly ship to many countries worldwide.
International orders are typically delivered within 7–21 business days after shipment depending on destination, customs processing, and carrier delays.
Please note:
- Customs processing may cause delays outside of our control
- Delivery timelines may vary by country and carrier
- Some products may ship from different warehouse locations
International shipments may arrive in multiple packages if items ship from different fulfillment locations.
Duties, Taxes & Import Fees
Domestic U.S. Orders
Some states require sales tax. Applicable sales tax will be calculated at checkout.
International Orders
Customers are responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, and fees required by their country.
Some duties and taxes may be calculated at checkout. Additional fees may be collected by the shipping carrier or local customs office before delivery.
These fees are not controlled by Terry Carter Music Store and are non-refundable.
If an international shipment is refused or abandoned, any return shipping costs, duties, taxes, or carrier penalties will be deducted from the refund amount.
Refused Shipments
If a package is refused and returned to Terry Carter Music Store, the customer will be responsible for:
- Return shipping charges
- Any duties or taxes charged to us
- A restocking fee may apply
These amounts will be deducted from the refund total.
Order Cancellation Policy
Before Shipment
If an order is canceled after it has already been pulled from inventory and packed, a cancellation fee may apply to cover processing costs.
If the order has already been submitted to a supplier or fulfillment partner, cancellation may not be possible.
Custom Work / Custom Orders
Once custom work has begun on an instrument or product, the order cannot be canceled.
Custom work includes, but is not limited to:
- Strap button installation
- Pickup installation
- Tuner upgrades
- String changes
- New nut or saddle
- Instrument setups
- Any other modifications requested by the customer
Because custom work permanently alters the instrument and requires labor and materials, these orders are not eligible for cancellation or refund once the work has started.
In rare or approved circumstances where Terry Carter Music Store agrees to cancel a custom work order after work has begun, the order will be subject to a minimum 30% cancellation fee to cover labor, materials, and restocking.
Custom work orders are not eligible for refunds and may only be eligible for store credit at our discretion.
