Secondly, the black color and gloss finish create a bold look, while white binding adds a clean contrast.

Furthermore, its mahogany neck features a laurel fretboard with 21 frets and decorative emblem fret markers. In addition, the 25.3-inch scale length, 1.87-inch nut width, and 12-inch fretboard radius define its playing dimensions. Therefore, X bracing supports the solid spruce top, while the laurel bridge and closed-geared tuners complete the design.

Takamine GD38CE-BLK Electronics and 12-String Setup

Indeed, the Takamine GD38CE-BLK 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar includes a TP-3G preamp pickup for amplified playing. Also, the built-in 3-band EQ gives players direct control over sound adjustments, while the chromatic tuner helps with tuning.

As a result, its steel strings use an E-E-A-A-D-D-G-G-B-B-E-E tuning for a full 12-string setup. Likewise, the included Takamine GBXW gig bag adds convenient protection for storage and transport. Finally, the Takamine GD38CE-BLK 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar combines acoustic construction, onboard electronics, and practical features in one distinctive black instrument.

What's Included With Your Guitar:

🎸 Takamine GD38CE-BLK Black 12-String Guitar ($1,099 value) Factory new, with the Takamine GBXW gig bag included.

🎓 12-Month Rock Like The Pros Premium Membership ($240 value) Full access to every course at rocklikethepros.com — beginner through advanced. Each of the six notes is played by a pair of strings, so you get twelve strings in total. On a 12-string, the lower four pairs are tuned an octave apart for that bright, shimmering sound, and the two highest pairs are tuned in unison.

Is the GD38CE-BLK a solid-wood guitar?

The top is solid spruce, which is the part of the guitar that matters most for tone and projection. The back and sides are sapele, and the neck is mahogany.

Can I plug the GD38CE-BLK into an amp or PA?

Yes. It's an acoustic-electric with a Takamine TP-3G preamp, which gives you 3-band EQ and a built-in chromatic tuner. The cutaway body also makes the upper frets easy to reach on stage.

Is a 12-string harder to play than a 6-string?

A little. Twelve strings mean more tension on your fretting hand and a bit more finger strength to get clean chords, and the nut is 1.87" wide, so you have room for your fingers. Most players get comfortable within a few weeks. If you're new to guitar, the included Rock Like The Pros membership walks you through the fundamentals, so you're not figuring it out alone.

Does the GD38CE-BLK come with a case?

It comes with the factory Takamine GBXW gig bag. It does not include a hard case.

What strings does the GD38CE-BLK use?

Steel 12-string set, doubled E-A-D-G-B-E.
