It has a CNC-cut sapele neck, an ebony fretboard and bridge, and a TUSQ nut and saddle. The headstock is mahogany with KoAloha's 5-pointed crown, and the soundhole is KoAloha's patented "Musubi" design, which is built to enhance projection and clarity compared with a standard tenor ukulele.

What size is the KoAloha KTNP-00 Naupaka and how is it tuned?

The KoAloha KTNP-00 Naupaka is a tenor ukulele, 26.75 inches long overall, with a 17.25-inch scale length, a 1.5-inch nut width and 20 frets. It ships with KoAloha fluorocarbon strings tuned G-C-E-A with an unwound low G, which gives a fuller range, and KoAloha geared tuners.

What does Naupaka mean on a KoAloha ukulele?

In Terry Carter's review of the Naupaka line, a Naupaka is a half koa, half mango ukulele. The top and the back each combine the two woods, with koa and mango alternating, so you can see a dark koa section and a lighter mango section. Terry Carter says the Naupakas are made in small batches, roughly ten of each size. The KTNP-00 is the gloss version: its finish is high-gloss, while the KTNP-10 is satin.

What does the KoAloha KTNP-00 Naupaka sound like and who is it for?

KoAloha describes the tone of its koa ukuleles as a balance of warmth and brightness, and says they suit styles from fingerpicking to strumming and from classical to jazz. In his review of the Naupaka line, Terry Carter describes koa as a balanced, lush wood with nice overtones, not too trebly and not too mid-range. He describes mango as warmer than koa, with a little more midrange and possibly more bass, and less projection. He says combining the two gives a balance of koa's crispness and mango's warmth, a more complex sound.

Will I receive the exact ukulele in the photos?

Yes. Each KoAloha KTNP-00 Naupaka we list is photographed individually, so the ukulele you choose under "Your ukulele" is the instrument shown in its photos.
